- Take 1 tea pan, place it on high gas flame.
- Add 1 cup or approximate 200 to 250ml water in it.
- Add 1 tbsp tea powder (known as chai patti). You may add little bit more if you like strong taste in tea(chai)
- Add 1 tbsp sugar. Sugar can be added more or less as per your taste.
- Add 1 tsp crushed cardamom (Elaichi) seeds.
- Add 1/2 tsp tea spices (chai masala). This can be readily available outside, or can also be prepared at home.
- Add 1/4 tsp cinnamon (taj) powder
- Add 4-5 Holy Basil (Tulsi) fresh water-washed leaves
- Add 2 tbsp grated or crushed ginger
- Keep stirring all the tea ingredients in boiling water with a high flame. This will mix all items nicely and the water will turn darkish brown. Keep stirring until you feel that the amount of water is almost half or more than half of the initial quantity and boiling water bubbles are forming.
- Now, time to add 1 full cup of milk, almost 300 ml into the tea and spices-infused mixture.
- After adding milk, stir the tea mixture at every 2 minute interval for 10 seconds.
- Keep supervising the tea and as the mixture begins to rise in the tea pan, turn the gas flame to the low setting.
- Let the mixture boil for another 5 to 7 minutes, until you see dark brown colour of the tea.
- Now, stop the gas flame, take the tea pot off and you'll soon be greeted by the delightful aroma of tea, enticing you to take a sip.
- To serve it hot, take 2 cups aside and using a strainer filter the tea.
